PS5 & PS4: New delivery numbers incl. PS plus-subscriptions

Sony presents in the latest Annual Report Some numbers to the current consoles PS4 and PS5. The New Gen hardware is therefore at 10.1 million deliveries. Already at the end of July the company referred to it. The delivery number was reached until 30 June 2021.

The figures for the past quarter were listed separately: total in the three months to 30 June 2021 2.3 million PlayStation 5 units and 500,000 PlayStation 4 units were delivered. Deliveries of the PlayStation 4 declined by 1.4 million pieces compared to 1.9 million copies in the same period of the previous financial year.

With the mentioned delivery numbers, the potential of the PS5 is not exhausted. Also nine months after the launch of the hardware, the console is not available free of charge. Rarely rarely gets further stocks in the sale and are usually sold out quickly. Due to the high demand, eBay and Co continue to be paid by the 700 euros. The EIA, on the other hand, is 399.99 or 499.99 euros, respectively. Only the more expensive model comes with a disk drive.

The number of PlayStation Plus subscribers was 46.3 million on June 30, 2021 and thus 1.3 million over the 45 million subscribers over the same period of the previous financial year.

The PS5 and PS4 software sold a total of 63.6 million times in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2020, which corresponds to a decline of 27.8 million copies compared to 91.4 million software sales in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

10.5 million games were First-party titles, which corresponds to a decline of 8.2 million compared to the 18.7 million units sold in the same period of the previous financial year. 71 percent of software sales were digital downloads of full games, compared to 74 percent in the previous year.
