Three European champions New: DHB nominates Quintet to Wiede

After Julius Kuhn and his post-returning Hendrik Wagner, the PCR test had gotten five more German national internationals on Monday. National coach Alfred Gílson had to work together immediately with his team to talk about possible reverse.

The DUB was quickly with players and associations of the Handball Bundesliga and the EHF in exchange. Gílson was able to bring professionals outside the 35er squad reported at the beginning of December into Slovakia.

The reverses include the two Berlin European Champion Paul Drug and Fabian Wide, who enthused in 2016 with the German team in Poland. Kiel's left outside Rune Dame, also EM-hero of six years ago, is now part of the squad. Circular Runner Sebastian Fire from HC Erlangen and Keeper Johannes Bitter (HSV Hamburg) complete the quintet of the post-nominated.

Exceptions for duo

Bitter, Dame and Firer counted already to the 35er squad, Drug and Wide may arrive thanks to an exception to EHF.

Already in the last group match against Poland on Tuesday (18 o'clock, live! With Julius), the returners could be used, but all five must submit a negative PCR test until then. In addition, the entire German delegation will undergo another PCR test on Tuesday. At the latest in the main round, some recruits should take an important role.
