Steam-Sale: Valve goes against fake
For PC players, Steam is extremely popular in particular because of the recurring special offers. However, it is similar to the gaming platform as in other corners of the internet: the providers fight with all tricks by a good position.
Valve goes against fake sales
A seemingly common practice are so-called fake sales. This means: Suppliers reduce the price for a few days to manipulate the store algorithm and have a potentially better store position at Sales events. - After a price increase in any currency, the product can not be discounted for 28 days.
- Sellers can not set up a discount earlier than 28 days after expiry of the previous rebate. Exceptions are global Steam season offers.
- Discounts Within the framework of the season offers, 28 days after the publication of the title, within 28 days after expiry of the introductory offer or within 28 days of a price increase in any currency are excluded.
- During a running or attached action, no price changes can be made.
- Steam in the future cover the height of the discounts. Sellers must grant at least 10 percent discount to set up an offer. The upper limit for discounts is 90 percent.
- Custom discounts must be running at least one day - a maximum of two weeks are allowed.
