Phew! Nintendo has apparently not quite given up one of my favorite series yet

When asked about an exclusive racing game series for Nintendo consoles, most of them would probably answer as out of the pistol today: "Mario Kart". And that's no wonder, after all, the current part of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been celebrating success for half a decade and is still one of the most popular titles for Nintendos Switch.

I-and probably also many others of you-also come to mind another racing game series: f-zero . Even though this "only" parts published in this country has produced, F-Zero was already flashing directly into my heart on the SNES in the 90s. The trademarks of the series: crazy speeds in the futuristic, great route designs and no way to use extra gafts. I particularly played the N64 offshoot F-Zero X up and down and combine many beautiful memories with it.

The N64 era shaped Tobi sustainably, because here he played some of the titles that milled himself into his memory forever. Among them, for example, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Perfect Dark and also F-Zero X.

in deep sleep for almost 20 years

Accordingly, it is no wonder that I have always hoped for a new part. But Nintendo has had the series dawn in deep sleep since 2004, i.e. for almost 20 (!) Years. It is now so long that you have to fear that the series will never wake up again. But Nintendo F-Zero obviously did not completely give up.

The Bizarre World of Nintendo DS Racing Games

At least that can be read from an interview with the former Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aimé, who spoke to Gamesbeat and also took up the topic of F-Zero. ( via Nintendo Life)

According to his statements, Nintendo has repeatedly experimented with new gameplay styles in the past to enable "unique experience". But that didn't work in his time, but he also says:

"I bet that somewhere in the Kyoto development center, some developers play around with an idea that can be used at F-Zero."

Here you can look at the Hall of Fame for the SNES-F-Zero:

calm of the former highest position

And even if reggies are of course not yet a confirmation for a new part, this statement calms me down in the fact that Nintendo has apparently not yet completely dropped and at least worries about it. I suspected that, but to hear it from "official" mouth, but makes it more credible for me.

I still do not expect a timely comeback from the series, and Nintendo - understandably - concentrates too strongly on Mario Kart 8 and its DLCs. A new edition of F-Zero would personally be one of the most beautiful "resurrections" in the industry. But until it may have come, I keep my fingers crossed and maybe play in F-Zero X again, which has been available in the Switch online expansion pass since the beginning of March.

What connection do you have to the F-Zero series?
